T&T cop hockey title

Trinidad and Tobago walked away with the Pan American Cup in both the men’s and women’s competition. Trinidad narrowly edged out Jamaica 1-0 in the female competition whilst they put on an impressive 4-1 over Barbados for the men’s title. Get more details about the competition here.

Siu Butts to be inducted in AU Hall of Fame

Trinidad and Tobago’s very own Stacey Siu Butt will be inducted into the American University’s Hall of Fame next January in recognition of her efforts which lead to national renown in the mid-1990s. At AU she had the following accolades:

  • US collegiate Rookie of the Year
  • first team All Central Athletic Association
  • Took the UA team to the CAA finals for the first time in its history
  • Most goals in a game
  • Most points in a game
  • Most goals in a season
  • Most points in a season
  • most career points and goals
  • co owner of the CAA record for goals in a tournament

T&T men’s hockey team through to Pan Am semis

Wayne Legerton scored four second-half goals to lead Trinidad and Tobago’s hockey men to a huge 8-1 win over hosts Brazil, at the 15th Pan American Games, in Rio de Janeiro, yesterday. Tomorrow, the team returns to the Field Hockey Center for a top of the group clash with Argentina, 4-0 winners over Cuba yesterday. Read more here
