It’s a first for Jamaica. Samantha Albert could have chosen to compete for any of the four different countries embedded in her heritage but she chose to do so for Jamaica. A country where her mother, Elizabeth, was born and where she spent much of her childhood. The 36 year old, aboard her chestnut mare Before I do It, qualified for the 2008 Olympic Equestrian event. The three day event is slated to be held in Hong Kong. Albert has tried twice before but on both occasions was forced to pull out before completion. Now fund raising is taking place in earnest to ensure that the she will be able to see through the Olympic dream.
