Kraidon Woods signs to Arizona State

It’s official, Kittitian born hoops star Kraidon Woods has signed to Arizona State for their 2007-08 campaign. The 6′ 9″ 200 pound basketball phenom was considering possible spots in the Pac 10 but has faxed in a letter of intent to Arizona State. Lucky them. Get more details on this story here.

Puerto Rico get FIBA Americas bronze

Puerto Rico, through a spirited performance by Elias Ayuso who scored 39 points, beat Brazil to cop the bronze medal at the FIBA Americas Olympic qualifying event. It was merely a contest of bragging rights, however, as both teams failed in their bid to qualify for the Beijing Olympics on this round. Sophia Young helps Stars shine

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines star forward Sophia Young had a great game scoring 22 points to pull the San Antonio Silver Stars into their first ever playoff berth. The 6′ 1″ Young scored 22 points pulled down 5 rebounds and dished out 2 assists in the sterling effort. Drafted fourth overall from Baylor, Young proved her mettle and the reason why she was named to the Wester Conference All Star’s team last year. Read more about her here.
