Jamaicans were up for special mention at the Josef Odlozil Memorial Grand Prix event held in Prage this weekend. Jamaica’s Steve Mullings won the men’s 100 in 10.21 seconds followed by Americans Marcus Brunson (10.24) and Philippe DeRosier (10.25). Also on the podium from the Caribbean was Dwight Thomas who was second in the 110 hurdles event.
Yvette Lewis of the United States won the women’s 100 hurdles in 12.99 and compatriot Lashinda Demus won the women’s 400 hurdles in 54.71.
Home crowd favorite Barbora Spotakova won the women’s javelin with a throw 223 feet, 10 inches. Sunette Viljoen of South Africa was second at 199-8.
