Mexican coach sounds praises for Caribbean

The winning coach of Norceca-D second round tournament came out quite impressed about the kind of competition his team had to face during the qualifier event towards the 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship Finals in Italy next year.

“I really didn’t expect to face the high level opponents we experienced,” said Jorge Azair, the veteran coach of the winners of the tournament. “I didn’t know what to expect before I got here but they really play good volleyball and the talent is impressive.”

“The good thing about this type of exchange is the benefit the teams from the Caribbean region might get for their future,” he said. “So I have to take my hat off and congratulate the Norceca Confederation for giving them the chance to play internationally and get the exposure they need.”

Mexico won its four matches in the competition without losing one set and now they have the opportunity to make it to the finals in Italy at their first chance during the Norceca-G third round tournament in Puerto Rico next July against the host team, Barbados and the second place team of a competition in Trinidad & Tobago next week.
