Giselle Salandy dies in car crash

Trinidad and Tobago’s World Record Holder and Boxing Champ Giselle Salandy has passed away today in a tragic car accident at the age of 21.
It is alleged that while travelling in her car on Beetham Highway near the offices of National Petroleum, the vehicle veered off the road and hit a pillar. Giselle was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital but died around 8:25 am.
Giselle began her boxing at the tender age of 11 and her professional career followed soon after at just age 13. Her last fight was on the 26 December 2008 in which she successfully defended her 8 championship belts.
Her lifes goal outside of the ring was to open and run a home for abandoned and destitute children.
