More than 20 Caribbean countries are to converge on St. Kitts Nevis for the CARIFTA Games that are scheduled to be held there. This is the first time that it’s being held in St. Kitts. The Deputy Prime Minister is quoted as saying:
“September 19, 1983, our Independence, was probably the biggest history-making event for St. Kitts and Nevis. Perhaps, this is the biggest history-making event since that time.”
The Games are slated for March 21 to March 24 in the island nation and have been dubbed the Caribbean Olympics. Over 700 athletes are tabled to compete in the Under 17 and Under 20 categories for both females and males.
