The final audited report shows that last year’s ICC Cricket World Cup held in the Caribbean is believed to be the largest ever. The event surplus is quoted as being at US$53.9 million.
With US$29.3 million paid out to the local organizing committees, and the West Indies Cricket board sharing 25% of the proceeds with territorial ticket boards, the West Indies have hosted the highest ever recorded returns on cricket sales in the history of the World Cup. Congratulations to the governments. It seems we got something right this go round.
