Kittitian traded in MLS

Kittitian Atiba Harris is to be traded by Real Salt Lake to Chivas USA. The trade was announced, completing a deal that has been in the works for weeks for a third round draft pick. In exchange for Harris, RSL receives the 37th pick of the annual Major League Soccer SuperDraft on January 18. That gives RSL four of the top 37 picks in the draft as well as an open roster spot for an international player.

Harris, 22, has scored four goals in his two year MLS career. He was the first player from the island nation of St. Kitts to play in the MLS and also holds the distinction of being the first player from that nation to be signed to a European club side when he did so in 2004.

Ricardo Fuller signs with Stoke City

Jamaican International striker Ricardo Fuller has been signed to an extended deal with Stoke City. According to Tony Scholes, he believes that Fuller is one of the best strikers in the division and signing him to a longer contract shows that the club is serious about him and a push for the premiership. Chris Binnie’s Victory in Canada

The Canadian Junior Open in Ontario, Canada was a huge event for the All-Jamaica men’s Senior champion, Chris Binnie. Binnie defeated Ryan Herden of Canada in the sem-finals in the Under-19 category with a 9-2, 2-9, 9-3, 9-2 victory. In the quarter-finals, Binnie again gained victory by defeating Mexican Jonathon Ramos in straight sets. but was defeated in the final by Shannon Kelly of Canada. Nonetheless, he has made Jamaica proud and now with his fellow compatriots, Brooke Burrows and Leisa Robotham who were also successful in their tournament held at the White Oaks Fitness and Racquet Club, are now heading off to the U.S. Junior Open in Hartford, Connecticut.

Results from the All Jamaica Squash Tournament

An exciting three days of juniors squash took place at the Liguanea Club
16-18 November 2007.  Fifty plus youngsters in ages ranging 7-18 years took
part in categories for both boys and girls U11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 and two
Novice categories.

Notable achievements: Brooke Burrowes securing both U17 and U19 girls
titles; Chris Binnie in his last junior tournament in Jamaica taking the U19
title.  Some great matches took place in the U13 and 15 categories; players
of note Josh Mahfood, David Mullings, Julian Morrison and Ashante Smith in
the boys and Jessica Perkins, Kerri-Ann Bell, Mary Jo Mahfood and Lauren
Mahfood in the girls.

West Indies win another

West Indies struck another blow to Zimbabwe’s hopes of winning the series when the pacey Jerome Taylor brought superb bowling to bear on them. In the end the Windies won by six wickets with 22 overs to spare. Read more about it here.
