HIS team is not getting the fluency Theodore Whitmore wants. But they’re getting the goals.
However, the Reggae Boyz head coach does not seem altogether worried because the major area of his team not working according to its functionality, the defence, is expected to have an overhaul in personality that could fix his problems.
"The coordination in our defence … it’s not 100 per cent and I’m sure that against better team it will cause problems," Whitmore said after the Jamaicans’ 4-1 victory over the Cayman Islands on Sunday night.

Usain Bolt, against a quality field that had the likes of Shawn Crawford, managed to clock a 10s run in pouring rain to cop top podium position in the 100M. It’s Bolt’s first outing of the year at this distance and he didn’t disappoint the thousands of fans that were watching. With a fluke occurrence that had the clock frozen at 9.2s at the end of the race, many including the clock, were expecting a fast race but two false starts and one disqualification as well as rain seemed to conspire against that. In the end the field finished as follows:
1 Bolt, Usain JAMAICA 10.00 -0.9
2 Crawford, Shawn USA 10.25 -0.9
3 Williams, Ivory USA 10.28 -0.9
4 Williams, Bernard USA 10.47 -0.9
5 Forsythe, Mario JAMAICA 10.48 -0.9
6 Connaughton, Jared CANADA 10.51 -0.9
7 Henry, Anson CANADA 10.57 -0.9
